After 19 months (2.4 years for me), the Flex 2 release is finally out the door. This is a really great release and hopefully this will usher in a new era of rich internet development.

On an unrelated note, I’d like to say I’m incredibly proud to have worked on such a great product. Flex Builder 2 has encompassed almost my entire post-collegiate career (all but 6 months of it) and it’s been beyond rewarding. So thanks every on the Flex 2 teams…and to everyone else…go buy these products!

  1. [...] Various coworkers have reported the news that Flex 2 has shipped (yay!), so I won’t repeat the details here. (Just go download the free Flex SDK or a trial of Flex Builder already! You know you want to.) [...]

  2. Just wondering if your Quick fix plugin made it in to the release?

  3. QuickFix didn’t make it into the product, but we’re looking into adding the functionality to future releases. In the mean time, the beta version i posted here will still work, and i’ll shortly be updating the QuickFix plugin to fix a few bugs and add some features.

  5. I heard that there’re 2 licences for Flex Builder 2 - A Commercial and an Educational Licence. What’s the difference between the 2?

  6. For licensing questions, Adobe’s website should have the information you’re looking for.
